Both 2nd round matches abandoned due to rain
DHAKA :: Both the 2nd round matches of the 33rd National Cricket Championship were abandoned today (Thursday) due to rain at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra and Dinajpur Stadium.
The opening 2nd round match between Pabna and Jessore DSAs was declared abandoned at the Dinajpur Stadium without a single ball bowled.
In the day’s other match at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, sent into bat first, Rangpur DSA scored 206 for all in 49.2 overs with Tanvir Haider making 52 runs.
Chasing a target of 207 runs, Narayanganj DSA scored 62 for 2 in 12.5 overs before the rain forced the match to be abandoned.
Eight teams, divided into two groups, are taking part in the meet. Group A – Rangpur, Moulvibazar, Barisal and Narayanganj Group B – Jessore, Pabna, Brahmanbaria and Faridpur.
The two group champions will meet each other in the final at the Bogra Shaheed Chandu Stadium on July 5.
