DHAKA :: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said that the World Bank will be given a deadline on the funding of Padma Bridge.
Muhith added, “The government will hold talks with the WB to know its latest position on the project. It will also be given a deadline.”
The Finance Minister, however, did not specify the time.
Muhith made the comment at Secretariat to journalists following a purchase committee meeting of the cabinet Thursday.
Talking about remarks of some treasury lawmakers on the sacrifice of Abul Hossain, Muhith said, “My colleagues do not know much about the project. They have not seen any documents. That is why they are making such remarks.”
The Finance Minister also said, “There were no financial transactions in the project. So there was no corruption. Maybe there was a plot for corruption.”
